The island of Santa Maria, due to its unique characteristics in the Azores Archipelago, is perfect for discovering on foot. There are 6 official trails available from the sea to the mountains where the volcanic landscape merges with the sedimentary landscape, taking us back to the beginning of the Azores Archipelago.
Sunny south coast of Santa Maria is set for this experience starting very close to the island’s wind park and ending right by the Marina. Get ready for learning about the rich intertidal fauna, visit two beautiful caves and get to jump a lot, according, of course, to your level of confidence and willingness.
The very well-known São Lourenço’s bay is the scenery for a day filled with lots of adventure: we start with a Canyoning trail that leads us to shore, with São Lourenço’s islet right ahead. Next we do Coasteering until Ponta Negra’s beach where we get to fully contemplate what is know as the most beautiful bay in the Azores.
